Default https access for Gmail
In 2008, Google rolled out the option to always use https - encrypting your mail as it travels between your web browser and our servers. Using https helps protect data from being snooped by third parties, such as in public wifi hotspots. Google initially left the choice of using it up to the user because there's a downside: https can make your mail slower since encrypted data doesn't travel across the web as quickly as unencrypted data. Over the last few months, google's been researching the security/latency and decided that turning https on for everyone was the right thing to do. more...

Awesome F-35B Video
F-35B's short take-off vertical landing capabilities.
According to Flight Global, this sophisticated war machine—which is now in its testing phase—won't see real action any time soon, as its engine is getting redesigned turbine blades. (Flight Global)

Richard Wright Dies
Wright died of an undisclosed form of cancer in his home in Britain on 15 September 2008. He was 65 years old. At the time of his death, he had been working on a new solo album, which was thought to comprise a series of instrumental pieces.
Bandmate David Gilmour in his website said: "In my view, all the greatest Pink Floyd moments are the ones where he is in full flow. No-one can replace Richard Wright - he was my musical partner and my friend." He added: "In the welter of arguments about who or what was Pink Floyd, Rick's enormous input was frequently forgotten. He was gentle, unassuming and private but his soulful voice and playing were vital, magical components of our most recognised Pink Floyd sound. Like Rick, I don't find it easy to express my feelings in words, but I loved him and will miss him enormously. I have never played with anyone quite like him."
I was hoping that Pink Floyd would re-unite one day and play again. Now, that dream remains a dream.

Tokyo Flash - Oberon S Mode
My New Oberon S Mode Watch!!!
Bought it from Tokyo Flash online. Placed the order on 31st July and was able to track it till it reached Chennai and it took 3 days to reach there but could not get any update for about a week. Had to make a lot of calls to Chennai post office and Bangalore Customs offices to know where the shipment was. Finally it arrived home on 12th of August.
I was not home so had to wait till the following week end to get my hands on it.
It takes a while to get used to the new way of time representation but you will get used to it after sometime. Overall its a neat watch!!!!
